Form 4 Design and Technology GCSE pupils recently visited Morgan Motor Company in Malvern for a factory tour.
Design and Technology teacher, Mrs Kelly Gibbons, tells us more:
“The pupils witnessed the high level of skill required by the engineers and production team to produce the range of Morgan cars. They walked through the factory floor, observing each stage of the production. They also learned how Morgan, as a company, acted positively to the pandemic by using their time during lockdown to restructure and introduce new production systems. The trip was interesting and enlightening, and it was great to see such a passionate workforce working towards building the best cars they can.”
The trip follows Form 3’s recent outing to the factory as part of their Creative Arts Project Day, allowing them to see Morgan’s production in action too.
Oakham Design and Technology pupils have the opportunity to see different designs in context through field trips to the Design and Science Museums in London and car manufacturers in the UK and abroad in Form 6.
