Job Opportunities

Situated within the bustling market town of Oakham in the heart of rural England, Oakham School offers a beautiful working environment just a few minutes’ walk from the historic town centre and amenities.

We are well known for being a friendly and down-to-earth school and there is a great sense of camaraderie and mutual support amongst our enthusiastic and dedicated staff.

Founded in 1584, we balance traditional values with an innovative and modern outlook and this is reflected in the wonderful blend of historic and modern buildings that form our green leafy campus. The School has over a thousand pupils aged 10–18, half of them boarders, half day pupils.

"Each day I am reminded of the incredibly beautiful environment we are all lucky enough to enjoy, and I am privileged to work with such a fantastic team of dedicated teaching and support staff."

With equal numbers of boys and girls since 1989, the School offers a truly co-educational environment. Whilst attracting pupils from all over the country and abroad, the School enjoys a close relationship with the town and the surrounding area.

In total, we have over 400 employees, and as such, we are one of the largest employers in Rutland offering first-class facilities and an excellent benefits package for teaching and support staff alike.
