The Archives

We are proud of Oakham’s long and rich history and over the years have been able to build up a fascinating collection of archive material: photos, essays, past editions of the Oakhamian magazine, items of school uniform, to name but a few.

The Oakham School Archives provide a historical record of Oakham School and are available to Oakhamians past, present and future, as well as to members of the public.

If you would like to arrange a visit or have any questions, please feel free to contact the archives on 01572 758 608 or by email at archivesuser@oakham.rutland.sch.uk.

Aurore Guillomot-Bonnefond

School Archivist, Resident Tutor

I am delighted to be the School's first-ever full-time Archivist, having previously been Assistant Archivist from 2018-2021. Having studied History and English Studies at Université Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand, I joined Oakham School in 2016 as a French Assistant, and moved into Rushebrookes in 2017 as a Resident Tutor, where I still reside. I began splitting my time between the French Department and the Archives in 2018, before making the swap permanent in 2020. I find researching and exploring the Collection very rewarding, as well as working with Oakhamians and Old Oakhamians to expand their (and my own) knowledge of the School’s history. I love spending time with the girls in house, and in my free time, I am a keen rugby fan and avid reader.
