Congratulations to the U13 Boys and Girls who secured the titles of Champions and Runners Up respectively in the In2County Hockey Tournament.
The U13 boys remained unbeaten throughout their 3 fixtures against Ivanhoe College (5-0), Hastings High School (5-1) and Loughborough Grammar School (6-1).
The U13 Girls also had a fantastic run narrowly missing out on a clean sweep with wins against Ivanhoe College (5-0), Welland Park Academy (5-0), Ratcliffe College (5-0) and Leicester Grammar School (2-0), losing only to Loughborough High School (0-4).
Graduate Sports Fellow Taegan O’Hara said, “I am so proud of the players and it is great to see the U13 boys crowned County Champions for the 3rd year running. Despite the horrific conditions, they gave some outstanding performances. Both teams are now looking forward to the In2Regional Hockey Finals at Aldersley Stadium, Wolverhampton on 10 March.”
Meanwhile, the U12 Girls and Boys finished 3rd overall in their In2County Tournament. Taegan said, “Both the girls and boys teams are relatively new and this was their first experience of the In2County Hockey tournament. They showed a great display of hockey and the competition has certainly set them up well ahead of next year’s age group.”
