Form 6 A-level students of Spanish, Poppy, Polly, Lotte, Georgina and Sidonie played hosts to their parents on Friday with a ‘degustación’.
The school kitchens were transformed into ‘un bar’ where they presented their tasty selection to their parents with the added touch of real flamenco provided by Piedad our Spanish Assistant who is a professional flamenco dancer.
Teacher of Spanish Monica Fernandez said, “The atmosphere was vibrant and very much enjoyed by all, a window to authentic Spain from Oakham School!”
Students at Oakham can choose between A-level or IB Spanish and to broaden their linguistic and cultural knowledge, Oakham runs a two-night ‘lightning visit’ to Spain for Form 6 pupils and an annual Study Trip for Form 7 students.
