Talented Lower School Musicians back on the concert stage

It was a real delight for our Lower School musicians to be heard in a live concert again on Friday 26 November, 19 months since our last dedicated Lower School musical showcase. With a packed audience in Chapel, the sense of excitement was palpable, with choirs, ensembles and soloists rising to the occasion brilliantly.

Four Form 2 samba groups brought the party spirit at intervals during the concert, showcasing their MYP curriculum classwork for a wider audience. In the first half of the concert, the audience also enjoyed two well-prepared instrumental groups – Lower School Brass and the Lower School Guitar Ensemble – as well as some entertaining singing of Lewis Capaldi and Queen songs by Cantamus.

We had the chance to enjoy solo performances throughout the programme by Charlie singing, Feodora violin, Baker trumpet, Ottó singing and Elsa violin, and they are to be congratulated on their confident and accomplished music-making. The second half of the concert also turned the spotlight onto the largest ever Lower School Strings group, who collaborated with the Lower School Percussion Ensemble, and the Lower School Choir, who rounded off the concert with a sequence of excellent sacred and secular songs.

Many congratulations to all our young performers for their brilliant performances, which can still be watched online here.
