Superb achievement for OO pianist Rupert Fell

We were delighted to learn recently of Old Oakhamian Rupert Fell’s success in being awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship in Music to Bristol University. Rupert was a music scholar at Oakham School from 2014-2021, achieving particularly high standards as a pianist under the tutelage of Ms Anne Bolt, Head of Piano. He is now looking forward to starting his undergraduate degree at Bristol studying French & Philosophy in September 2022, supported by one of only 20 scholarships awarded annually recognising prowess in drama, music or sport.

Rupert is currently on his GAP year, and has been taking the opportunity to develop his musical experience by accompanying pupils at Oakham taking music exams or performing in last term’s Singing Competition. His last recital at Oakham in June 2021 can still be heard online here.

Many congratulations!
