This term boarding has seen a perfect balance of work, rest and play.
Middle School highlights have included belated Christmas dinners, an amazing time at socials, friendly games nights, film nights, trips to ‘Gravity’, service weekend expeditions, mini-golf, bake-offs and safari suppers. Interhouse competitions have also been great fun; the House singing competition a particular favourite.
Lower School boarders in Hodges have been getting on brilliantly with the new Gap Year students who arrived in January and who help support the Hodges team. Hodges boarders have enjoyed an action- packed programme including a trip to Gravity, Ninja Warrior, the Escape rooms and an outing to the cinema.
Upper School boarders have also enjoyed socials, a fantastic black tie dinner and a hugely entertaining Burns Night.
The sun is starting to set much later, and the boarders are having more time to play outside in the evenings. Cricket, football, tennis, sailing, and hockey have all been popular, as well as many non-sporting activities.
The food for the boarders has been incredible especially Sunday brunch, thanks to the talented kitchen staff. The boarders are offered a wide range of cereals, cooked breakfasts, toast, yoghurts, fruit, pancakes; they certainly have a fantastic choice. Lunches and dinners have also been to their usual excellent standard and are something that everybody looks forward to.
Senior Housemistress, Mrs Carly Latham, said, “Thank you to the staff and tutors who have helped provide our boarders with opportunities to relax with friends, enjoy new experiences and create memories that will last them a lifetime.”
With Easter approaching, the boarders are now looking forward to their House Easter treasure hunts. We wish all the staff and boarders a very Happy Easter.
