Form 7 thoroughly enjoyed a training session with England U18 Coach Mark Mapletoft, as they continue to develop key skills, in the hope that competitive rugby will return to Oakham, in January 2021.
Mark, who previously led Harlequins to a Premiership title in 2012 as Head Coach, said: “I am delighted to be coaching at Oakham and have been very impressed with the skills the pupils displayed throughout the session.”
The training session specifically focused on passing the ball with speed and accuracy, whilst following Coronavirus guidelines; training in small groups and sanitising frequently throughout the session.
Director of Rugby, Andy Rice, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Mark Mapletoft to Oakham School and I would like to thank him for offering some outstanding training to Form 7. This was an exciting opportunity for the pupils to further develop their game, in preparation for the hopeful return of competitive rugby at Oakham School.”
