The Politics & International Relations Department is delighted to have received a replica of the famous Despatch Box (Red Box) from the official supplier Barrow Hepburn and Gale to help educate its pupils about the British political systems and British values.
Laurence Ward, Head of Politics and International Relations, said, “We are humbled that we have been recognised as a Politics Department which shines an important light on the British political system and the international community. Our School aims are to instil a love of learning and for our students to confidently contribute now and beyond with a global outlook. I am immensely proud that we have been given this opportunity.”
Representatives from Barrow Hepburn and Gale were very impressed with Oakham’s delivery of Politics and will be sending an updated Despatch Box in a few months with the initials of King Charles.
The Red Box will be creatively used not just within the Politics classrooms but also through different educational ways to promote the subject, including essay competitions and events. Watch this space!
