Congratulations to Oakham’s Director of Netball, Lauren Nicholls, who has joined Superleague netball team Wasps from Loughborough Lightning.
Lauren, who joined Oakham in September 2017, has represented Loughborough Lightning in the Netball Superleague for 10 Years, reaching the Grand Final twice and winning the Final in 2021.
Lauren has also won Gold for Great Britain at the World Universities Netball Championships
Lauren said, “I have enjoyed ten incredible seasons with Loughborough Lightning and winning the superleague title this year was a dream come true. I am now looking forward to a new challenge with Wasps, and everyone has made me feel very welcome. It will also be great to be on the right side of the AllezAllezAllez chants at home games!”
Meanwhile, Director of Oakham Hockey James Bateman has been made Head Coach for the Men’s 1st XI at the University of Nottingham. James joined Oakham in 2013 and is also a Talent Development Coach for England Hockey.
Oakham has an enviable reputation for excellent coaching in various sports, and Oakham pupils enjoy an outstanding record of success at local, regional, and national levels.
