Oakham school was successfully represented at the Leicestershire County Championships this year with Max W, Max L, Emily M and Zara S all playing in the finals. Max W and Emily M also won County titles. Congratulations to all of them and also to Spike M who is now ranked and in Leicestershire County under 19’s team.
Oakham Boys and Girls First teams remain undefeated so far this year with Oakham school Captain Max L leading Max W, Spike M, and Felix M winning all of their individual matches.
Oakham Boys Second Team is full of new talent and have improved their matchplay and won their last two matches convincingly. Eddie M, Adam D, Seth T, Leo B and Eoin M have all shown great promise for future squash.
Oakham Girls Squash team led by Captain Emily Maclean have won all of their school matches with Zara S, Holly S,and Lucy C all remaining unbeaten in their individual matches.
New squash players, Flo L, Stephanie F, Philla S and Anna May C are all working hard to keep Oakham school girls squash winning.
Oakham boys captain Max said, “This term, I’d like to thank Simon Rolington for giving me the opportunity of leading such a strong first team. Congratulations to both Boys and Girls team for the unbeaten season. Greatest performer has to be Spike M for his endurance, along with the most improved player, Seth T.
Oakham girls captain Emily said, “The girls team this term have been amazing and made being a Captain very easy. So many of our players have been unbeaten this term with great hope for the next one. I’d like to thank Simon from all of us for giving us the training to remain unbeaten. Though we’ve only had a few matches, we have shown how strong we are.”
