Oakham School Steeplechase 2022

Oakham’s annual inter-house Steeplechase saw Barrow and Hambleton overall winners of the Junior and Senior races.

Nearly 600 boys and girls took part in the event, which took place on the grounds of Oakham School. Despite tough weather conditions, there were some excellent performances giving a real competitive edge to the race.

Assistant Director of Sport Tref Vandoros said, “It was a very special afternoon of running and great to see the boys and girls of Oakham giving their all as one! A big congratulations to every runner. It was very wet and windy, but their teamwork and camaraderie helped each other over the line. There was huge support on the side-line, and a massive effort in the field, a real positive reflection of House and School spirit. Thanks must go to all the marshals and helpers that ensured a smooth competition.”
