Oakham School cadets have been presented with their BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Teamwork and Personal Development in the Community.
15 pupils were recently awarded their qualification from representative of the CVQO (Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation), joining a total of 191 Oakhamians who have received the BTEC diploma through the School’s Combined Cadet Force. This is a valuable vocational qualification which is highly regarded. In order to gain the qualification, the cadets had to excel at teamwork and communication. They also had to complete a CVQO workbook and choose from options including citizenship, volunteering and personal development through adventurous activities. Oakham School Plt Officer Amanda Ball said, “We are incredibly proud of the cadets. They worked hard and showed commitment to the course. Also a huge thank you to Mrs Michelle McGuire from CVQO for her fantastic support throughout the programme”. These qualifications will enhance the cadets’ career prospects by giving them the skills, knowledge and understanding which are valuable to employers and will help set them apart from other applicants for university places and employment.
Currently 11 Form 6 cadets have started their diploma and the School looks forward to celebrating their success in due course. Find out more about CCF at Oakham School.
