Our Music at Lunchtime recital this week was a vocal performance given by Form 7 pupil, Maxim, and consisted of several songs from the musicals.
He opened with three songs from Les Misérables: the jovial ‘Master of the House’, Javert’s powerful solo ‘Stars’ and the very emotive ‘Empty Chairs at Empty Tables’. Maxim used both his vocal and dramatic skills across these pieces to cleverly portray the emotions of the characters.
Next the audience were treated to a wonderful rendition of the classic song ‘The Music of the Night’ from The Phantom of the Opera and finally Maxim sang ‘Anthem’ from the musical Chess. It was a most enjoyable performance.

Next week’s concert will be given by Ottó and Evie who will be performing a selection of vocal and violin pieces by Quilter, Loesser, Grieg and Monti.
