Congratulations to Lauren (Form 6) who has been selected as one of 16 players to represent Bermuda in their upcoming qualifying tournament for next year’s Central American and Caribbean Games in El Salvador.
Lauren received her call up yesterday after having been invited to attend an elite three-week training hockey camp, which was part of the selection process.
Lauren said, “The training camp over the past 3 weeks has been intense and exhausting but the hard work has paid off. Thank you for all the support from Oakham and I look forward to returning to school in the Summer term.”
The tournament will take place from the 13th-17th of April and Lauren will be competing against teams such as Puerto Rico, Guyana, and Jamaica.
Director of Hockey James Bateman said, “I am really proud of Lauren. To play hockey at an international senior level whilst still at school is a phenomenal achievement. She has a fantastic attitude and work ethic, and it is great to see her being rewarded for all her hard work. We wish Lauren and the team all the best with their upcoming matches.”
