During the last week of term IB Diploma pupils enjoyed an evening of celebration and awards recognising achievement within the IB Diploma programme, with several attending the event virtually.
The Headmaster, the Head of Upper School and the IB Coordinator addressed the audience and there were excellent speeches by pupils Alice and Lorenzo.
Prizes were awarded for individual effort and performance in specific subjects and this year there was also the inaugural ‘John Cheverton Holistic Prize’ and the ‘Lorenz-Weir IB Diploma medal for endeavour.’ Mrs Lorenz-Weir, who is stepping down from her role as Head of Upper School after 6 years and Director of IB after 16 years is donating the medal of endeavour, rewarding those who have worked with resilience through the challenges of the Diploma.
Mrs Lorenz-Weir said, “I am very proud of how our IB Diploma students have navigated this difficult time, completing all their coursework and oral exams in unusual circumstances. Their resilience has been impressive and they are now ready for the future that lies ahead of them. We wish them the best of luck!”
