Headmaster features in podcast

Headmaster Henry Price was delighted and honoured to be invited to take part in the popular Legally Speaking Podcast, hosted by Old Oakhamian Rob Hanna (04).

The half-hour podcast covers a variety of topics in the world of education generally, and at Oakham School specifically.  Henry discusses his views on the value of independent education in the 21st century, as well as the benefits of different educational pathways including A-level, BTEC and the International Baccalaureate Diploma.  There are some interesting questions that include ‘how should schools measure success?’, ‘how should parents chose a school?’, and ‘how can Alumni give back?’.  Given the timing of the podcast, Henry and Rob also discuss the impact and pressures of Coronavirus on schools, notably the cancellation of examinations last summer.

It is a wonderful opportunity to hear Henry’s insights, opinions and views as the Headmaster of one of the country’s largest co-educational independent schools.  “It was a pleasure to speak with Rob on such a wide range of issues,” says Henry.  “There is always more to say, but I am very grateful to Rob Hanna and his team for allowing me to offer some thoughts in such a warm and professional format.”

The world-leading podcast is in the top 10% of podcasts generally, with listeners in over 100 countries across the globe.   It features guests from a wide range of backgrounds, all interviewed by Rob, the Managing Director of the legal recruitment firm, KC Partners.  “I am truly honoured as a former OO to help promote the School where I had so many fond memories, through a new and slightly alternative channel,” says Rob.

The episode can be listened to via the Legally Speaking Podcast website – www.legallyspeakingpodcast.com – or it is available on all major platforms: Spotify, Apple or Google Podcasts
