As part of the School’s Armistice commemorations, Form 3 Drama Scholars will be presenting a rehearsed reading of the poignant story ‘Private Peaceful’ by Michael Morpurgo, adapted by Simon Reade.
Performed and recorded in the Old School Studio, it’s a tribute to all those who have lost their lives in conflicts across the globe. The reading will be streamed on the Private Peaceful page of the School Website from 11 am on 11 November until Sunday 15 November.
“I am amazed how Form 3 Drama Scholars, together with Teacher of Acting and Theatre Manager David Norell, have managed to produce a show of this quality in so short a time”, says Director of Drama, Gilly Norell. “It is a fitting tribute at this time of remembrance and is a clear signal that Theatre at Oakham is now open again for business”
Also coming soon to Oakham Theatre is the Form 7 Drama Scholars’ production of ‘Decky Does a Bronco’ by Douglas Maxwell, which will be available to view on the website from 1-5 December.
