Form 2 pupils studying German had a great lesson about how Fasching/Karneval is celebrated in Germany.
Head of German Mrs Phillipa Sykes tells us more:
“Marking the period before Lent, Germany’s carnival season, which is also known as Fasching, is a time of parades, elaborate costumes, masked balls and street parties that culminates on Shrove Tuesday.
Our pupils learned about some of the traditions, songs, made their own Karneval Masken and enjoyed a few Krapfen.”
German is taught in a dynamic and engaging way throughout Oakham School. Students immerse themselves not only in the German language but also in the culture of the country.
