Form 2 pupils recently enjoyed a festive trip to Germany visiting the Christmas Markets.
Simi (F2) tells us more:-
“The trip to Lüneburg and Hamburg in Germany was an amazing experience with many great opportunities. The two locations were beautiful and had lots of pretty scenery and Christmas decorations. As well as getting a feel for the German language and how it is spoken, we got to experience the famous Christmas markets during the day and at night with all their gorgeous Christmas lights. The Christmas markets were stunning and we had a lot of time to look at the German culture.
It was fascinating to see how salt was extracted in Lüneburg and we even had a chance to do it ourselves at the salt museum. We got a lovely taste of German cuisine in the restaurants and the donuts and crepes at the Christmas market were delicious – not to forget the warm Kinderpunch.
We even experienced first hand the efficient German public transport on the journey to Hamburg city centre. The Miniatur Wunderland, in Hamburg and the largest of its kind in the world, was remarkable – it even included a miniature airport and train station as well as many different attractions. Over all it was a brilliant, well planned and thoroughly enjoyable trip! “
