Five Oakham School athletes were selected by Leicestershire & Rutland to compete in the 92nd English Schools Track and Field Championships.
The event, which is considered the premier school-level athletics event in the the country, was held at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, on Friday 30 June and Saturday 1 July.

Speaking about the athletes’ selection, Oakham School’s Director of Sport Dr Iain Simpson said: “It is a fantastic achievement to be selected for these championships because of the very rigid qualifying standards.
“These standards are over and above winning events at county championship level. We’re very proud to have five Oakham athletes selected this year.
“The English Schools is a fantastic opportunity to compete against the best young athletes. I wish all of our pupils the best of luck.”
