Congratulations to winner Riya (Form 3) and runner up Yat Fei (Form 5) whose Christmas card designs were chosen for this year’s School Christmas cards!
The competition saw an amazing array of entries from Oakham’s Art Scholars and the winning designs were chosen by the Headmaster, Henry Price.
“I was very happy and surprised that I won the competition”, said Riya. “I think what inspired me to do this painting was that I love the building of my new House (Hambleton) and I imagined what it would look like on a festive, snowy day. A key element of my painting was the Christmassy wreath on the front door of my common room.”
Riya’s and Yat Fei’s designs will now be printed and sent out as the official Oakham School Christmas cards for this year!

Oakham’s Art Scholars are encouraged to enter local and national competitions and enjoy extra mentoring and guidance from our experienced team of specialist teachers. They take part in special workshops and attend educational trips for inspiration. Their work is on display in exhibitions throughout the year.
