Well done to the Boys 1st XI Cricket team, who secured two wins in the National T20 Cup competition over Wellingborough and Uppingham, progressing to the next round.
The boys beat Wellingborough by nine wickets in a very commanding first performance of the season, with Will H and Joe J batting superbly.
The game against Uppingham was closely fought, going down to the final over. The Partnerships between Joe J and Will H as well as Freddie and Will H played a crucial role in winning the match. The couple of boundaries in the last few overs made the final over victory seem relatively comfortable.
Director of Cricket Patrick Latham said, “ It was a wonderful start to the season, and a huge confidence booster for the boys. We are now waiting to find out whom we play next in the competition.”
Around 230 boys and 70 girls of all ages from 1st XI to U11 level play at Oakham during the Summer Term and the School regularly fields 21 boys’ teams and 10 girls’ teams.
