Boys 1st XI National T20 Cricket Cup success

Well done to the Boys 1^st XI Cricket team, who secured two wins in the National T20 Cup competition over Wellingborough and Uppingham, progressing to the next round.

The boys beat Wellingborough by nine wickets in a very commanding first performance of the season, with Will H and Joe J batting superbly.

The game against Uppingham was closely fought, going down to the final over. The Partnerships between Joe J and Will H as well as Freddie and Will H played a crucial role in winning the match. The couple of boundaries in the last few overs made the final over victory seem relatively comfortable.

Director of Cricket Patrick Latham said, “ It was a wonderful start to the season, and a huge confidence booster for the boys. We are now waiting to find out whom we play next in the competition.”

Around 230 boys and 70 girls of all ages from 1^st XI to U11 level play at Oakham during the Summer Term and the School regularly fields 21 boys’ teams and 10 girls’ teams.
