An Interview With: Upper School Art student Millie

Describe your art:

Playing a lot with my own imagery and open space, I consider my art to hold some of the same characteristics of neo expressionism. Using bright colours and different mediums such as acrylic paint, mono printing, and charcoal my works tell a story of family and attachment.

When did you first become interested in art?

When I was younger I always had a fascination with art, my time at prep school really developed my interest and support from my family saw the start of my art career.

What is your favourite tool or material to work with?

Probably acrylic paint, for my style of paintings its perfect and very versatile.

Where do you find creative inspiration?

My family plays a lot in the themes of my art, emotional attachment to objects and places are some of the themes I have recently been exploring in my art works.

What are you going to study next year?

I am going to study Liberal Arts, the course combines history, the arts, philosophy, and language.
