1984 Visit Duke of Edinburgh and head girl

The Oakham School community is deeply saddened by the death of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh on the 9th April 2021.We offer our prayers and thoughts to Her Majesty The Queen and the whole royal family at this difficult time.

Safely reuniting our community

It has been wonderful to once again have the children safely back on campus and enjoying being with their friends in the classroom, on the sports fields, playing music and on the stage.

Distance Learning: Version 2:0!

Faced with yet another lockdown, Oakham rose to the changing landscape (again) to not just deliver the same excellent provision offered back in 2020 but to further develop and hone our Distance Learning.

Matthews Society and LGBTQ+ History Month

It has been a busy and interesting term for the Matthews society, with pupils discussing issues affecting gender equality in society. The School also celebrated LGBTQ+ History month, recognising the achievements and rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

My name is Georgina, but everyone calls me Gina. I have the privilege of being one of Oakham’s Heads of School this year.

My name is Oliver, and I have the honour of being this year’s Deputy Head Boy. As a family, we have been associated with Oakham School for 50 years, and after leaving Orwell Park in Suffolk, I followed in the footsteps of my two older sisters to join Oakham in Form 3.
