Oakham School is proud to announce a new partnership with Leicestershire County Cricket Club ahead of their 2025 season, uniting two organisations with a shared passion for sporting excellence and nurturing young talent.
As part of this exciting new partnership, Oakham School parents, pupils and staff have a special invitation to watch the Foxes’ opening Vitality Blast match of the summer on Friday 30th May at the iconic Uptonsteel County Ground.
The match will celebrate Oakham’s strong sporting legacy and involvement in cricket, with activities and engagement opportunities planned throughout the evening for pupils, families, and fans.
Another key part of the partnership will see Oakham School sponsor rising star Aimee Colquhoun from the Leicestershire CCC women’s team, reinforcing the School’s commitment to equality in sport and the continued growth of the women’s game.
Iain Simpson, Head of Sports Partnerships at Oakham School, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Oakham School to build a meaningful connection with Leicestershire CCC – a club that shares our vision for nurturing potential and promoting the game at all levels. We’re particularly pleased to support Aimee Colquhoun as a women’s player – it’s a strong statement of our belief in equality in sport and the future of women’s cricket.”
John Williams, Commercial Director at Leicestershire CCC, said the Club is thrilled to welcome Oakham School as a key partner for the 2025 season. He commented: “Their dedication to developing young athletes aligns perfectly with our own values. The T20 fixture on 30 May will be a great opportunity to showcase that shared passion, and we’re equally proud to see their support for Aimee, who is an exciting talent in our women’s team.”
