We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our Class of 2025 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma pupils, who have received a superb set of exam results. They have worked hard and have been duly rewarded with results that evidence their dedication and resilience, supported by the strength and breadth of our IB Diploma Programme.
This year’s IB Diploma cohort have much to celebrate. Seven pupils achieved 40 points or more, an exceptional benchmark equivalent to more than four A* grades at A-level. One pupil achieved the maximum 45 points, placing them in the top percentage of IB students, while another scored 44 points, showcasing true academic excellence. The cohort average of 33.9 points continues to exceed the global average, reinforcing the strength of Oakham’s teaching and the dedication of our pupils.
As Dr Leo Dudin, Deputy Head Academic, explains:
“The IB Diploma is an outstanding programme, not just for the academic elite, but for any pupil seeking a well-rounded education with a global outlook. It offers both structure and flexibility: three Higher Level subjects allow for deep exploration, while three Standard Level subjects ensure pupils retain breadth and variety in their learning. That balance keeps curiosity alive and nurtures a love of learning across disciplines. As pupils grow in confidence and capability, their ambitions rise, and so too do their opportunities.”
That sense of momentum and holistic development is reflected in the exciting university destinations and diverse range of courses our IB pupils go on to study. From this year’s cohort, universities include Cambridge to read Geography, Durham for Natural Sciences, King’s College London to study subjects ranging from Biochemistry to Management and Languages, Manchester for Law, and Bristol for International Business and French. All competitive courses at leading institutions, secured through their hard work and the robust preparation that the IB Diploma provides.
Beyond the UK, international success is also strong. Offers include the prestigious Ivy League University of Pennsylvania and multiple places at ESCP Business School in Madrid, one of Europe’s top-ranked institutions.
The IB Diploma Programme shapes confident, open-minded and inquisitive young people who leave Oakham with the knowledge and skills to thrive at university and beyond.
We are enormously proud of our Class of 2025 IB Diploma pupils and all they have achieved and wish them the very best as they prepare to embark on their next adventures. And we look forward to celebrating our A-level and BTEC results very soon.
