On Sunday, OO and critically-acclaimed actor Richard Hope (71) led a workshop in the Queen Elizabeth Theatre (QET) for some of the Drama Department’s scholars and GCSE pupils.
Richard boasts an illustrious career in theatre, television and film. Perhaps best known for his role as Pascoe in Poldark, Richard has just finished a 10-month run in the world-renowned West End production of The Woman in Black.
Richard gave advice on how to prepare for an audition for the National Youth Theatre, and shared some acting tips and techniques for the pupils to practise in both their academic and extra-curricular theatrical pursuits.
“We are incredibly fortunate that Richard is so supportive of the School,” says Gilly Norell, Director of Drama at Oakham. “His masterclass was both a fun and valuable learning experience for the pupils. It also inspired some of their ambitions to pursue a career in the performing arts.”
