Four of Oakham's Indoor Hockey Teams through to the Regional Finals!

Congratulations to Oakham’s 1st VI boys' and 1st VI girls' indoor hockey teams who are through to the regional finals for the 10th year running! They join the U16 girls’ and boys’ teams who also reached the finals last week. 

The zonal competition, which they had to win to qualify for the Finals saw the 1st VI boys draw with KES (1-1) and beat Malvern (2-0). The 1st VI girls beat Wellingborough (3-1) and drew with Rugby (2-2).

Director of Hockey James Bateman said, “We are delighted with the teams’ successes. They train hard and should be proud of their achievement. We are now looking forward to the next stage of the competition.”

The U16 girls’ and the 1st VI boys’ finals will be held at Aldersley Sports Village on 5 December. The U16 boys’ and the 1st VI girls’ finals will be held at Repton School on 3 December.

Oakham pupils enjoy outstanding performances at local, regional and national levels, which is a testament to the ongoing success of Oakham School as a centre of hockey excellence.
