Congratulations to our new team of Lower School Prefects

The beginning of the academic term saw a new team of Lower School Prefects appointed and ready to take on their leadership roles within Oakham School.

The Prefects’ responsibilities include helping to run their House by taking roll calls, looking after younger pupils, setting the right example and being leaders. The boy prefects are identified by wearing a special tie and the girl prefects a gold badge.  This term there are 27 Prefects across all four Houses and a Head of House for each one. The Heads of Houses also enjoy representing the pupil body and discussing operational matters at fortnightly meetings with the Head of Lower School.

Head of Lower School, Mr Adrian Morris, said, “As ever, we strive to give pupils responsibilities and leadership opportunities and therefore I am delighted to announce these appointments for the term.”

Form 2 Prefect, Sofia Scott said, “I am so happy to have been chosen as a Form 2 Prefect and am really excited about being responsible for organising activities for our House social evenings! I also enjoy helping the Lower Ones settle in and feel part of Lincoln, as I remember what it was like to be a new pupil.  I love encouraging the whole House to dance together with Mrs Northcott after morning Roll Call!”
