1st XI Cricket team winners of Bedford 10s

Congratulations to the 1st XI Cricket team who are the winners of the inaugural Bedford 10s tournament.

The team lost a tight match to Rugby but claimed victories against Perse (winning by 7 wickets) and Bedford (winning by 27 runs), securing the trophy.

Director of Cricket, Neil Johnson said, “It was an excellent win for the boys. There was a real team effort after losing the first game against Rugby. Everyone stuck together and pulled through for a fabulous win in tough conditions. A special mention to player of the day, James, who scored 57 runs in 23 deliveries and 3-7 in two overs in the final game against Bedford. Thanks must also go to coaches Zak Bess, Wes Durston and Joe Arkwright for all their support with the boys.”

Oakham School has welcomed the return of competitive Cricket after lockdown, and the 1st XI is looking forward to competing against Repton today in the 2nd round of the National T20. Oakham's Cricket teams are also looking forward to playing against Oundle this weekend, alongside welcoming spectators back.
