Vikings visit Oakham School
On Monday of service weekend, Lower One pupils spent the day with Clan Wulfhar, a Viking re-enactment group from Peterborough.
Mrs Alison Petit, Ancaster Housemistress and Teacher of Lower One tells us more:
“They spent the day learning about the Viking way of life, including weaponry, medicine and domestic life. In the afternoon, the pupils were invited to a Viking feast and, as is the way of Vikings, a fight soon broke out between Viking warriors. Fortunately, this was soon resolved with a series of sword fights in Lower School, cheered on by Lower One pupils.
As well as having a fun day, the Lower One pupils learnt much to add to their current work on Viking invasion.”
