Upper School Spanish Tarde de Cine - Ocho Apellidos Catalanes

The termly Spanish Tarde de Cine and Pizza Night went down a storm again with Form 6 and 7 hispanists.

The Ashburton Hall was filled with students eager to watch the film Ocho Apellidos Catalanes, which provided much laughter and enjoyment. This hilarious sequel to the equally amusing Ocho Apellidos Vascos by Emilio Martínez Lázaro continues about the story of characters Amaia and Rafa.

Amaia breaks up with Rafa and falls in love with a Catalonian ‘hipster’, Pau. The film brings a new twist to this marvellous take on Spanish stereotypes.

Head of Spanish Mr Cameron Pauls said, “It was great to see another fantastic turnout to this event. Not only do these film nights provide the students with an excellent opportunity to improve listening and comprehension skills, it also gives them the chance to hear authentic and varied language. The pizzas were much enjoyed by everyone too!”
