U16 Boys crowned County Hockey Champions!

The U16 Boys Hockey team have won the County Hockey Championship after playing some great hockey throughout the tournament.

The boys, ably led by captain Charlie put on a fantastic performance conceding just one goal throughout the whole afternoon. In their first match, against local rivals Uppingham, they showed some impressive attacking display winning 3-0.

The team then played against Ashby resulting in a 2- 1 victory and were also triumphant in their final match of the day against Ratcliffe winning 4-0.

Director of Hockey James Bateman said, “Inclement conditions did not deter them from their success and their hard work in training and strong core skills have really paid off. This is a great win for our U16 boys and I am delighted with their achievement.”

The next stage for the boys will be the zonal tournament, where they will play against nearby counties to represent the Midlands.
