U14A Netball squad win Bromsgrove tournament

The U14A Netball squad were crowned champions of the prestigious U14 Bromsgrove Invitational Competition, after winning 4 out of 5 of their matches and on goal differences.
Having recently secured a place in the National Finals, the tournament was a great opportunity for the U14s to play other schools that will also be at the National Finals, giving them a good benchmark for their preparation.
The girls played some outstanding attacking netball throughout the tournament, resulting in big wins over Bromsgrove (13-8), Repton (10-5), Cheltenham Ladies’ College (23-3) and Uppingham School (14-5) . The game against Redmaids’ High School, which was tightly contested, saw the team narrowly missing out on a win (7-8).
Senior Housemistress and Teacher of Sport Mrs Carly Latham said, “It was a great team effort by the girls with some excellent passes and interceptions. The matches were 7 minutes each way, the same as those in the National Finals ahead. They were therefore fantastic practice for playing at high intensity and learning that every error proves costly. This win hopefully stands them in good stead for the Nationals.”
