Well done to Lower 1 pupil Lottie who has won the U11 Girls’ Prep Schools Cross Country event, her second win in two weeks, with the girls’ team finishing 3rd and the boys finishing 2nd.
Assistant Director of Sport, Mr Trefon Vandoros, tells us more:-
“The environmental challenges of the Prep Schools event were similar to those during last week’s competition, but the pupils were all the more prepared to take them on and that included the merciless climb up to the finish line.
In the Girls’ U11 team, Lottie repeated her inspirational efforts with a flying start and a fight right to the top of the hill to clinch victory and win the Girls’ U11 race. She was well supported by Thomasina in 12th and Emma in 15th place. The girls gave their all and 3rd place for their team effort was exceptional.
The Boys’ U11 team stepped up to the plate and delivered. They knew the track and were determined to improve their previous performance. On the gun, they surged forward to the front. Each boy bettered their position considerably and they only lost out on 1st place by a couple of points.
A huge well done to all the runners. It was a strong competitive race and all the runners had to earn their place and fight to the finish to keep it. Another very worthwhile experience for all involved.”
