“Of the newer British choirs currently emerging, few can match The Carice Singers for musicality and beauty of tone" – Alexandra Coghlan (Gramophone Magazine)
On Thursday 15 March one of the UK’s most promising emerging choirs will be coming to Oakham School to perform an evening of stunning choral music in Oakham School Chapel. Under the direction of George Parris, The Carice Singers have been making a name for themselves as a unique and astoundingly talented group, with a passionate and imaginative approach to British vocal music. Their programme for this evening, entitled Eternal be the sleep, will centre around the British composer Hubert Parry and the First World War. It will feature works by Parry’s contemporaries, Holst, Elgar and Vaughan Williams and will culminate in a performance of Parry’s remarkable Songs of Farewell
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets which are priced at £10 (free for school-age children) are available from firstname.lastname@example.org, 01572 758820, Walkers of Oakham, wegottickets.com or on the door.
