Students of Spanish cooking up a storm in the kitchen
Form 4 students of Spanish recently had a creative lesson in the kitchen cooking Spanish dishes.
The session was aimed at putting into practice what they had learned in class on the subject of Food. Before the lesson, the pupils had to find a recipe in Spanish and translate it. They then met at the kitchens and spent the lesson cooking their dishes whilst conversing in Spanish.
Teacher of Spanish Mrs Annabel Hurley said, “Students successfully followed their recipes in Spanish and made some delicious treats including Christmas biscuits, traditional madalenas, and chocolate mousse. It was a lot of fun, if a little messy!”
Classes like these help inject language learning into normal, everyday activities and is an excellent way for pupils to practise their language skills.
