Since leaving School, students from the classes of 2015–18 have been busy forging successful careers in their chosen sport.
A summary of their progress is as follows:-
Don Butchart (17) is playing regularly for Leicestershire CCC 2nd XI. He has been in the 1st XI squad and is highly rated so it should not be too long before he makes his debut with the team.
Meanwhile Lyndon James (17) has already made his 1st XI debut for Nottinghamshire CCC. He is the captain of the 2nd XI and pushing hard for a regular spot in the 1st XI.
Andy Jones (18) has returned to the UK after playing cricket in Australia and is now realising his potential. He is an accomplished all round cricketer at Leicestershire CCC, is contracted with the Leicestershire CCC Academy, and has made his 2nd XI debut.
Lucas Ward (17) plays for Beeston 1st XI, which came 3rd in the English Premier League, narrowly losing 2-1 in the Play-Off Finals against Hampstead & Westminster. He is currently playing hockey in Australia for their season.
Alice Huddlestone (17) is playing for Beeston 1st XI, the team that secured their place in the English Premier League following promotion the previous year.
Maddie Pearce (17) won BUCS Gold and the English National Conference North with Loughborough University, earning their place in the English Premier League next season. Maddie has also been selected for the England U21s, playing a recent 3-match series against Germany. Moreover Maddie has been selected for the GB Elite Development Squad.
Matt Ramshaw (18) plays for Loughborough 1st XI in the National Conference North, finishing as their top goal scorer. He has continued to play for England U21s, and recently played in a 3-match series against Germany, scoring a goal against OO Alex Stadler (15). He is currently playing for England U21s in the 8 Nations Tournament. Matt continues to play in the GB Elite Development Squad.
Aex Stadler (15) plays in Germany for Mannheimer Hockey Club. He currently plays for Germany U21s and recently played in a 3-match series against England, winning the series 3-0. He is currently representing Germany U21s in the 8 Nations Tournament.
Despite receiving two university offers, Cameron Jordan (18) decided to concentrate on his developing rugby career after being handed a full-time contract to play for Leicester Tigers last year. He has had another great year to date, as part of the senior Tigers Development Squad playing in both the Premiership Shield and Premiership Cup games. Unfortunately a minor injury during his last game against Sale curtailed his ambitions for England U20 honours. He is now in training for the season ahead, where he looks forward to partnering up again with his Academy and former Oakhamian teammates Sam Costelow and Jack van Poortvliet and, more importantly, targeting some breakthrough games for the Tigers 1st team at the age of 19.
During his time at Oakham Samuel Wolstenholme (17) was in the Yorkshire Carnegie Academy, training with them during the school holidays. Upon leaving School, he was loaned out to National 1 side Hull Ioanians where he played half a season before moving over to Sydney to play in the Shute Shield for Manly Rugby Club. Upon his return he started studying for an Economics degree at Loughborough University while managing to make 23 appearances in the Rugby Championship for Carnegie. He will be moving to Wasps for the new season and looking to combine his Rugby journey with continued studying.
