Form 3 pupils attended an Art workshop at Oakham School given by professional artist Danielle Vaughan. Danielle introduced the pupils to her current style of work, which explores the creation of images using recycled materials, the focus being on pattern, colour and textures.
Danielle presented her artwork to the group and led them through the process of the art of collage. The pupils then started their own collages with some amazing results.
Ian Prendergrast, Teacher of Art said, “ The pupils found Danielle inspirational and responded very positively to advice provided throughout the day. They produced some excellent work and I am very proud of their achievement. They are a credit to the school.”
Their collages will form an integral part of the Form 3 Art Exhibition taking place from Monday 15 May to Saturday 17 June, which will be held in the Smallbone Library. Other works on display will be more Form 3 artwork created in response to a recent visit to the Imperial War Museum in Manchester as well as their class pieces on the themes of ‘The City’ and ‘The Mexican Day of the Dead’.
