Pre-season cricket training in Spain

Over the half-term break, 16 boys from Forms 4 to 7 travelled to Spain for some pre-season cricket training.

Over the course of the three days, the boys worked hard on all aspects of the game from batting and bowling practice to fielding drills at the beautiful Cartama Oval Cricket ground in Malaga.

They also enjoyed a match against the local team Cartama Crusaders and scored 184 in 35 overs. During their down time they enjoyed a bit of backyard cricket - ‘One Hand One Bounce’ - as well as making the most of the excellent facilities within the complex.

Director of Cricket, Mr Neil Johnson, said, “The weather was great and the boys learnt a lot about their cricket.  It was fantastic preparation for the season ahead.”
