Chairman of the Dispensing Doctors’ Association Dr Richard West MBE spoke to Seventh Form Politics students on Monday, guiding them through the finer points of recent health policy as someone who lives it every day.
Dr West provided in-depth breakdown on political issues in health ranging from 7-day GP access to rationing in medicines and treatments across the NHS. Through his unique perspective, students were presented with a succinct analysis of all the issues they needed to understand in preparation for their A-level examinations.
The students asked insightful questions into contemporary issues, such as; is privatisation the answer for an over-stretched NHS and why do many GP partners not become directly 'employed' by the NHS?
It was a very interesting and informative seminar, which the Seventh Form students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed.
