Oakhamian selected for England rugby development squad

Form 7 rugby player Jack has been selected for the England U18 rugby squad and will attend a development camp this week.

Named as part of a 42-man squad, the Oakham School XV rugby captain and Tigers Academy player Jack will join his England team mates for a 4-day development camp in Bristol.

Scheduled ahead of the beginning of the international calendar with U18 games starting in March, the camp will take place in Shaftesbury Park.

This achievement follows Jack’s recent success as part of the Leicester Tigers U18 Academy Squad’s unbeaten run in the Premiership Rugby Academy League and their Championship victory against Gloucester Rugby.

Director of Rugby Mr Andy Rice said, “I am so pleased for Jack. He has worked hard to develop his skills and I believe he will develop well within the squad.”
