Oakham School U15A Cricket team are county champions!

The U15A Cricket team were victorious at the County Cricket Finals at Kibworth Cricket Club against Uppingham. They will now progress to the Regional Quarter Final this June.

The gripping match saw the Oakham team set a winning target of 132 runs, of which their opponents, who despite taking a hat trick in the first innings, could not beat. Our Oakham players were honoured to be awarded the County Trophy by former England player Paul Nixon and Leicestershire player Ateeq Javid.
Head of Boys PE Mr Glenn Gelderbloom, “I am proud of the boys; they showed perseverance and coped well under pressure. We are now looking forward to preparing for the next part of the journey to the Regionals!”
Cricket has gone from strength to strength as one of the major sports at Oakham with many Old Oakhamians pursuing a career in First Class cricket as a result of the coaching and support they received at School. Oakham School has also recently seen the return of County Cricket being played on its exceptional grounds with Lancashire Lightning beating the Foxes (Leicestershire CCC) in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
