Oakham Footballers selected to represent ISFA national U18 Squad

Congratulations to Izzy in Form 7 and Ellie in Form 5 who have been selected to join the ISFA Girls National U18 Representative Squad!

The girls were selected for the squad following a day of intense trials and have now been invited to attend the upcoming development camp in Cambridge during October.

The girls have already enjoyed considerable success on the pitch - with both national and European Football experience under their belts.  Izzy, Oakham School’s captain, played for Northern Ireland this summer in the Women’s U19 European Championships.  Ellie, Oakham’s goal keeper, has played for the Leicester City Women’s Development Team.  She was also a member of the ISFA National U16s Team last year and represented the Midlands Region as a striker in last years’ Nationals.

Mr Rob Johnson, Head of Girls Football & Head Coach of Girls Football in the Midlands Region said, “This is an incredible achievement for both girls. Having quality players like Izzy and Ellie in the School adds value to the whole squad. Players who aspire to be in the first team can see week in, week out, just how hard these girls are working in order to achieve their levels of performance”.
