Oakham Biology students are celebrating after triumphing in the UK Biology Challenge Competition, consisting of two 25-minute online tests.
55 young Biologists from Forms 1-4 won awards with 2 students achieving a Gold Award, 7 students winning Silver and 17 earning a Bronze. Furthermore 10 received a High Commendation and 19 received Commendations.
Head of Biology, Dr Trish Ingles, said, “Our students performed incredibly well, with Oliver Ricketts and Morgan Line achieving a Gold Award. The competition, organised by the UK Biology Competitions Committee, aims to increase students’ interest in Biology and rewards those whose knowledge of the subject has been acquired outside of the classroom. It is therefore absolutely fantastic to see such great results. A huge well done to everyone who took part.”
Oakham Biology students in Form 6 also performed well in the 2019 Biology Olympiad earlier in the year winning Silver and Bronze Awards.
