Music scholar re-selected for the National Children’s Orchestra
Thursday 10 December
Congratulations to Form 2 flautist and music scholar Jessica Carr, who has just been re-selected for the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain. Jessica will play in the under-13s orchestra next year. The NCO is Britain's premier symphony orchestra for children and it offers life-changing training and experience to budding instrumentalists.
Members of the NCO's under-13s orchestra have two nine-day residential courses, one at Easter and one in summer, both of which end with a public concert. Previous venues have included Leeds Town Hall, the Town Hall in Birmingham and The Anvil in Basingstoke. There is also a non-residential weekend during winter which culminates in a concert, usually in the Royal Festival Hall.
