Medals Galore for Oakham athletes at the Leicestershire and Rutland County Championships
An impressive number of 45 Oakhamians competed at the Athletics Leicestershire and Rutland County Championships held at Saffron Lane Track last Saturday. They won a total of 29 medals and were awarded 11 Gold, 5 Silver and 13 Bronze.
There is also a possibility that five pupils will be selected to take part in the National Championships.
Director of Athletics Mr Trefon Vandoros said, “The students had a great day on the track. It was a fantastic experience for everyone and they all made an outstanding effort leading to some great results.”

Also a massive well done to all those who competed in the Lower School East Area Athletics Championships (IAPS) at the Bedford International Stadium last Friday. Peter and Emily showed particularly strong performances and are through to the Nationals in Birmingham in July.
