Lower School pupils take part in Harvest competition for Rutland Food Bank

Lower School pupils have been busy collecting food to send to Rutland Food Bank as part of their harvest celebrations.

The four Houses (Ancaster, Peterborough, Sargants and Lincoln) competed with one another as to who could collect the most food and the results were announced at the family Harvest service. The competition was incredibly close but Ancaster just pipped Sargants at the post by one receipt and were awarded the much coveted ‘tin opener’ trophy!

David Clark, The Project Manager at Rutland Food Bank visited the pupils today to thank them for their support and the food will now be distributed to those in need in the Rutland area.

Head of Lower School Adrian Morris said, “The pupils and their families have been generous and are very proud to be able to collect so much to help the people in the local area.”

Oakham School students have been providing donations to the Rutland Food Bank for several years and also support a range of local, national and international charities from Macmillan Cancer to the Derbyshire, Leicester and Rutland Air Ambulance.
